Guided Walk @ Hodder Way Stage 4

Come join us on Monday 27th July for the fourth stage of the Hodder Way! 

Event Description:  Join Ribble Rivers Trust on the fourth stage of our series of point to point guided walks to complete the Hodder Way! In the fourth stage we will be walking from Newton-in-Bowland to Gisburn Forest Park, were we will closely follow the River Hodder upstream through Slaidburn to Stocks Reservoir were we will continue around its edges to the visitor centre. 

Location: We will be meeting at Gisburn Forest main car park, BB7 4TS, please note this is a pay and display car park. The what3words location is devoured.section.depths and grid reference SD 74483 55731, if possible please car share. We will be getting a minibus promptly at 9:30 am to arrive at Newton-in-Bowland before 10 am to begin our walk. 

Difficulty:  6.7 mi (10.8 km) | 703 ft (214 m) ascent - This walk will take approximately 4 hrs and is moderately difficult with a slight incline throughout the day, and two shorter sections of steep incline/decline.

What to bring: Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, as well as suitable footwear such as walking boots or walking trainers. To help reduce the risk of bites, cuts and stings we also ask attendees to wear long sleeved tops and trousers. Please also bring lunch as we will stop to refuel along the way.

Important information: To help cover the costs to run the event, we are asking for a contribution of £15 per person for the event. Once you have signed up, you will receive all of this information in a handy email. It also means we have all of your contact details so that, in the rare event that we have to cancel the event, we will be able to notify you via email.

Facilities: Toilets are available at the visitor centre at Gisburn Forest Park at the beginning and end of the walk.
