Himalayan Balsam Pulling @ Fishwick Bottoms, Preston

Join us in our balsam pulling activity down at Fishwick Bottoms.

Activity, balsam pulling: We will be using our hands and/or weed slashers to control the balsam around the newly planted tree saplings along a stretch of the River Ribble, so please wear suitable gloves, long sleeve tops and pants to help prevent getting pricked by thorns.

Site, Amber: Good access. We will be working near water also. Please note that because we will be working on some uneven ground, please wear appropriate footwear - boots or wellies.

Warning: Site is a good 15-20 minutes walk from meeting point/car-park, please keep this in mind when booking onto this activity. We may shuttle volunteers back and forth to make it easier (if possible).

No toilets available on site.

Please note that parking its limited on the small car park. If you can walk or get public transport to the event, this would be helpful in keeping vehicle numbers low. There is also additional parking at Ashworth Grove, just 5 mins walk away.
