Help Richmond CC fundraise to uplift critical facilities
Fundraising is critical to the longevity and upkeep of the club. We are thrilled to launch our fundraising site here.
You can support RCC essential funds through:
- buying a ticket to the Ashes legends dinner
- pledging a donation (either on the fundraising website or when you buy a ticket to the dinner), or
- participating in our silent auction.
There will also be a live auction of signature items at the dinner itself as well as a silent auction. Winners of silent auction items will be notified when the auction closes after the dinner.
Our current top priorities are to fund the following projects:
Old Deer Park
- Repair and service the sight screens
- Extend the run ups to the nets to accommodate fast bowlers
- Refurbish or replace the bowling machine
- Extend the hard area outside the Pavilion
Newman Cricket Ground
- Replace the covers now at end of life
- Repair or replace the nets
- Replace the storage shed damaged by vandals
We estimate we need a budget in excess of £30,000 in order to deliver on these projects.
We really encourage everyone who enjoys the benefit of the club and uses our facilities to take part in this important fundraising drive.
Contact RCC Social Chair for more information.
About our speakers
Allan Lamb
Allan Lamb (also known as Lamby) had an impressive international cricketing career. Spanning the decade 1982-92, Allan’s cricketing career included 79 test matches for England and 128 one day internationals. He captained England three times against the West Indies and Australia, and captained Northampton CC from 1989 to 1994. Allan scored 4654 test runs with 14 centuries and 33502 first class runs, scoring 89 first class hundreds. He won the accolade 'Cricketer of the Year' in 1980.
As well as having a famous sporting image, Allan is a popular persona and is indisputably witty and entertaining. One thing is for certain there is no shortage of stories of his journey to sporting greatness.
With an abundance of good humour and his unquenchable drive to live life to the full, this passionate business leader brings a completely fresh perspective.
Since 1998 Allan has been running his own successful Event Management, Sports, and Tailor-Made Travel Business, looking after clients and their corporate and private hospitality.
Alan Coleman
Alan Coleman is Director of Cricket for Middlesex Cricket, a role to which he was promoted in November 2021.
In his first full season, Middlesex secured promotion to Division 1 of the County Championship, having been relegated previously in 2017.
In January 2023, Alan also assumed the leadership of the Sunrisers professional women team, which sits under Middlesex Cricket’s banner, and he brings his wealth of knowledge and love of cricket to bear to further develop this fantastic team.
Alan is no stranger to top performance cricket and made his Middlesex First XI debut in a match at Richmond against Sussex in 2001, and went on to appear a number of times for the first team.
Due to frequent injuries he had to give up playing professional cricket. Upon finishing with Middlesex, Alan’s career turned to coaching and management, taking on a number of roles within the county before his current appointment to steer performance cricket at Middlesex.
It promises to be a night to remember. We cant wait to welcome you all to Old Deer Park and celebrate the incredible sport that is cricket!
