Historic Boat and Canal Experience

An opportunity to learn more about the history of the canal in Rickmansworth, to visit our historic wooden narrowboat ‘The Roger’ and learn about life on a canal boat.

Dates: Sunday 27^th July and Saturday 30^th August
Times: 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm
Cost: £18

The whole experience will last around 1 1/2 hours and during the afternoon you will have a guided tour of the historic site at Batchworth Lock; a visit to the boatsman cabin on Roger to learn how families lived on the canals and a talk about the history of Roger, one of the only remaining wooden narrowboats in use today.

Afterwards you will have an hour long boat ride on 'Spirit', one of our trip boats, going up through Batchworth Lock, turning below Lot Mead lock and returning to Batchworth. If you wish you will be able to help work the lock.

Tea/coffee and biscuits are included and will be available for you to enjoy on board the trip boat.
