Right to Grow Tower Hamlets x Green Week: How to start a community food garden
Share this event
Have you ever wanted to start a community garden but not sure where to begin? Are you interested in growing your own food and supporting healthy ecosystems in Tower Hamlets?
Join our tour and harvest celebration at Mudchute Community Food Garden. Joseph the head gardener will introduce how the garden was started up this year, how it was transformed from an NHS garden (that was sadly defunded in March!) to one run by the community. He will give a tour of the space whilst sharing his experience of engaging local residents, the challenges and the support gained along the way. To end with a harvest showcase – with crops, tasters, and a presentation of plant varieties and recipes.
Children are welcome and adults will need to remain with children under 8 at all times. Dogs on leads are also welcome.
Date: Sunday 25 October
Time: 12–2pm
Location: Mudchute Community Food Garden, 35 Pier Street, E14 3HR
