East County Star Vocal Competition

Support the young performers from underserved parts of East County San Diego at the East County Star Vocal Competition. This competition is the culmination of the fundraising efforts from our fall cabaret series and will donate funds to both high school and college aged performers to pursue their performing goals through voice lessons, recording studio time and coaching. Riot is proud to present this year's mentors and judges Desiree Clarke Miller and Anise Ritchie, iconic San Diego performers and artists. 

Dozens of performers submitted this year and 36 were chosen to compete in round two, which will take place during the day on April 19th, and then 12 will be chosen to move on to the final round which will be performed at 6:00 p.m. on April 19th, 2025 at the MVHS Performing Arts Center, 3230 Sweetwater Springs Boulevard, Spring Valley CA 91977. Chef Shelly, Michelle Velez acclaimed San Diego soul food and barbecue pit master, will have her food truck available for purchase plates of incredible barbecue. Winners will be announced at the final round performance.
