The Ceilidh is a fundraising event aimed at raising the money needed to buy the premises currently occupied by the Ripon's Men's Shed. Claro Lounge in Ripon has kindly offered to provide use of the Lounge and food for the event, and the Harrogate band, The Stray Chords, will be playing the tunes.

The property that the Men's Shed currently occupies is up for sale, and in 18 months time, members may need to vacate when their lease is up. Although members of the Shed, generous benefactors, and the public have already raised a substantial amount to put in an offer, more is needed to achieve their ambitious plans of purchasing their own premises. If the money can be raised, they will be able to secure a permanent home.

Without bigger premises, the Shed can't grow or have enough equipment for everyone to use when needed. Ripon Men's Shed greatly contributes to the community and works closely with local organisations and charities to repair, refurbish, or build bespoke wooden items. It's also a safe and welcoming environment for members and visitors alike.
