This event is being postponed. Please keep up to date with us to sign up to the new date for Child Exploitation for sports clubs and organisations - and we hope you can join us next time.

After receiving excellent feedback and requests for further training, we’re so pleased to announce Phoebe and Alice from The Children’s Society and Liz and Sarah from The Ivison Trust are delivering another session to speak to sports clubs and organisations about child exploitation.

Across the country, young people are being manipulated, sexually abused, forced to launder money and deal drugs. Exploitation isn't obvious. But it happens everywhere. Our sports volunteers, coaches, and parents/ carers are the eyes and ears on the ground and are often well placed to spot the signs that something might not be right for a child attending the sports club.

The team from the Children’s Society will speak to us about how we can work together to spot the signs of child exploitation and how we can report and stop this. We’ll also be joined by Liz and Sarah from the Ivison Trust to raise awareness of the fantastic work they do to support children and families affected by criminal and sexual exploitation.

This virtual event is for anyone involved in a sports club or organisation (including volunteers and parents/carers) and will be particularly useful for club welfare officers. The session will include:

  • What child exploitation is
  • How to spot signs of child exploitation
  • How to report it
  • Support for children and families affected by exploitation

This is a FREE virtual event and please register by clicking ‘SELECT TICKETS.’ You will receive an email ahead of the event with the joining link and instructions.

We’re pleased to offer this event as part of the Sport Welfare Officer network and this is in partnership with Rise, Tees Valley Sport, Active Cumbria, North Yorkshire Sport, Yorkshire Sport Foundation, Active Chester, Active Lancashire, Greater Manchester Moving, and MSP Merseyside.
