North East Sport Welfare event

We are excited to invite you to the first North East Sport Welfare event for sport volunteers, activity providers, sport clubs and organisations from the North East on Saturday 21^st June at the fantastic St James Park Stadium – home of Newcastle United!

This is a FREE event and will help to raise your awareness and knowledge of current safeguarding and welfare issues in sport in our region.

Join us for a networking breakfast followed by insightful key note speeches from the Durham FA team about their fantastic work in increasing youth voice; Dion’s personal account of abuse in professional football; and CLIP – Hartlepool's Community Led Inclusion Programme to speak about neurodiversity awareness and inclusion.

After lunch (provided) you will have the opportunity to attend two workshops delivered by local experts and we have an amazing line up for you to choose from including: safeguarding adults in sport; inclusive sports with GB Wheelchair Basketball and the North East Warriors; transgender awareness and inclusion; online safety for children; youth voice inclusion; mental health and suicide; and banter v bullying.

9:30 – 10:00 Arrival and breaky (provided)

10:00- 12:30 A morning of key note speeches with breaks and refreshments

12:30 -13:30 Lunch, networking and photo opportunity overlooking the stadium!

13:30- 15:30 Your choice of 2 workshops

15:30 – 16:30 Optional opportunity for networking and Q’s
