Understanding Eating Disorders and Sport and Exercise
With more people than ever developing eating disorders – an estimated 3.5 million young people and adults in the UK likely living with an eating disorder – it's important that we know how to spot the signs and signpost to support.
We'll be joined by the UK's eating disorder charity – Beat to understand and explore the relationship between eating disorders and sport and exercise.
This online workshop has been created specifically for sport volunteers and will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to recognise the possible signs of an eating disorder, respond and help create safer and more inclusive environments.
We'll explore how eating disorders can present across different genders, cultures and body types. We'll also cover the risks associated with restrictive eating and compulsive exercise.
This workshop is suitable for over 18's who are part of a sports club (volunteer or member) or an activity provider.
This is a FREE event and please click ‘SELECT TICKETS’ to register your place. You will be sent the link for Teams ahead of the event in a separate email.
This event has been organised as part of the support offer for sports clubs and organisations through the Sport Welfare Officer network.
