Risk management in education isn’t about predicting the future. It’s about understanding what matters, what could get in the way and what you can do about it.

Risk is everywhere. Decisions about staffing, finance, estates, cyber security, pupil numbers, SEND, sustainability and school improvement all involve risk. Yet too often, risk management becomes something we do to maintain a register rather than something that actively supports better leadership decisions.

In this practical and interactive session, Helen Burge and Emma Gray will explore how schools and trusts can take risk management to the next level.

We’ll look at how to identify and prioritise the risks that really matter, understand risk appetite, assess whether controls are actually working and connect risk more effectively with strategy, governance and decision making.

You’ll leave with practical ideas, tools and conversations you can take back to your own organisation, whether you are starting to rethink your approach to risk or looking to develop what you already have in place.

Places are free but limited to 30 due to room capacity, so advance booking is essential.
