Laurie introduced Riverdale Rising Stars to the Y 25 years ago and we are honoring her for her vision and leadership which has shaped our Performing Arts Program, now including Riverdale Y Dance, plus the three additional Theatre Companies that have followed. Laurie refers to our “little corner of the world” as a safe space for the budding thespian at any age to embrace who they are and ultimately become who they want to be. She believes that theater has the power to transform and give participants an epiphanic experience that changes their lives, opens their heart and challenges the way they think.
