Winter 2025 Bison Field Harvest
Sat Jan 11, 2025 9:00 AM - 11:45 AM
ROAM Ranch, 78624
Description
The ROAM Ranch Bison Field Harvest is curated in a way that allows consumers to witness, participate in and celebrate the harvesting and butchering of North America's largest land mammal, the bison.
The day will begin with a live animal transitioning through its end of life process in the most humane and peaceful way possible (field harvest). Participants will have the option to witness this field harvest and have the ability to honor and show gratitude for the ultimate sacrifice that will eventually feed you and your families.
Next, our local expert will demonstrate how to skin, eviscerate, and butcher this incredible 900 pound animal. Attendees will have the option to assist in deboning and getting their hands "dirty". We will explain where certain cuts are located, how to make sausage, ground meat, and lead in a conversation about the importance of connecting with your food.
Each attendee will leave with approximately 2-3 lbs of ground bison meat as well as have the opportunity to eat fresh bison tartare.
At ROAM Ranch, we value this connection to our food and the spirit of the animals we raise. Come and join us in celebrating, learning and giving thanks.
The $175.00 cost covers each individual registration, 2-3 pounds of meat, butchering instruction, and a lifetime of memories. Additional meat may be purchased at the conclusion of the event
