When & Where
The Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir, under the direction of Kimberly Ruse Davidson, will be presenting its 39th annual holiday concert, “Songs of the Season”, Saturday, December 20th, 2025, with concerts at 1:30 PM and 4:00 PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1831 Deyerle Rd SW in Roanoke, VA (map it). The doors will open 30 minutes prior to the performance.

What We’re Singing!
The concert will showcase a blend of beautiful classic Christmas carols and new holiday favorites, enhanced by a handbell choir and organ accompaniment throughout the concert. This year, our choirs will perform three pieces with the handbell ensemble, including a charming new selection, “Ring Those Christmas Bells.” The evening will also feature a festive organ fanfare performed with the full combined choirs.
A taste of what to expect, among even more songs being performed by the different choirs: The Little Singers (ages 4-6) will undoubtedly steal the show with their performance of “Happiest Christmas Tree,” complete with adorable Christmas tree costumes. The A Choir (1st-2nd grade) will present “Away In A Manger” along with choreography to the upbeat and cheerful “Candy Cane Twist”. The B Choir (3rd-5th grade) will offer a lovely German arrangement of “O Come Little Children.” The B+ Choir (5th-9th grade) will shine in a beautiful performance of John Rutter’s “Angels’ Carol”. The C Choir (8th-12th grade) will round out the evening with an intricate and challenging four-part a cappella rendition of “Deck the Hall”. All the choirs will come together for a grand finale to joyfully send us into the holiday season!
Special Concert Guests will include Ronn Lowe, Organ; Julee Hickox, Flute; and the RVCC Handbell Choir
It will be a beautiful night that we hope you can come and enjoy with us!

About the RVCC
The Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir is a full-year choir program, for ages 6-18, that provides young singers the best place to nurture their talent by learning proper vocal technique, musical skills, and making new friends who also love to sing!
Now in its 39th year under the direction of Ms. Davidson, the RVCC has earned national recognition for choral excellence and is a highly respected arts organization in the Roanoke Valley and in the state of Virginia. Since its founding in 1987, we estimate that over 2,000+ children have participated in the choir program. The choir currently consists of 150 singers in 1st-12th grade from many schools across the Roanoke Valley.
Singing in a children’s choir can be life changing for so many children. Along with the artistic expression and musical skills, the choir program teaches confidence, teamwork, perseverance, and leadership. The culmination of these qualities leads to skilled young singers, diligent musicians, and emerging community leaders.
Recent featured performances for the RVCC Concert Choir include the 2008, 2014, and 2020 Southern Division American Choral Director Conventions, the ACDA National Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2015, Festival and Solo performances in Canterbury and London in 2017 and 2024, and solo performances at Carnegie Hall in 2016 and 2022.
