“Songs of the Season” 36th Annual Holiday Concert

Treat yourself to the angelic sounds of the Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir this holiday season! The RVCC concerts are celebrated for their purity in tone, artistic performances, and varied repertoire. Let the sounds of well-trained fresh voices usher in your holiday season!

The Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir, under the direction of Kimberly Ruse Davidson, presents its 36^th annual holiday concert, “Songs of the Season”, Saturday, December 10th at 7:00 PM at Church of the Holy Spirit. The doors will open 30 minutes prior to the performance. Tickets are available to purchase online through Ticket Tailor. Online Pricing: Adult = $23, Child = $10. All tickets are general admission, and not specifically assigned seats. If still available, tickets will be for sale on concert day at the door for $25. Please buy your tickets ahead of time to ensure your seat!

Repertoire will include traditional carols, classical favorites, and lighthearted holiday music with several songs in our year-long Disney Theme. The choir’s special musical guests will include the Roanoke Chamber Brass; Julee Hickox, flute; a local professional harpist, Winifred Garrett; and RVCC student Caleb Gaines, percussion.

The Children’s Choir includes children ages 7-18 divided into 3 training choirs and a concert choir. Students are accepted into the choir through classes and auditions held throughout the year. Recent featured performances for the RVCC Concert Choir include the 2008, 2014, and 2020 Southern Division American Choral Director Conventions, and the ACDA National Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2015. Festival and Solo performances in Canterbury and London in 2017 and solo performances at Carnegie Hall in 2016 and 2022.

• The RVCC will host a Community Carol Sing-A-Long at the Taubman Museum on Saturday, December 3, from 11:00-12:00. Admission is free.
