Join Rob in a session designed to help strengthen artists' use of the palette-knife for special effects. Gain control over the knife and learn strategies for using it more effectively.
We will *not* paint a landscape or any other subject. Instead, we'll work on the following:
- How to properly load a palette knife.
- How to mix paint with a knife without creating mud.
- How to arrange paint on your palette so you can actually pick it up.
- How to create clean shapes, broken shapes, edges, and textures.
- How to get thick, thin, smooth, chunky, sharp, and juicy passages of paint.
- How to implement small strategies for making your knife work stronger.
