Rochester Young Professionals (RYP) is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of emerging leaders in our community. The RYP Excellence Awards honor individuals who are shaping Rochester’s future through leadership, passion, and dedication in four key areas:

Award Categories & Criteria

1. Professional Development Award
Recognizing a young professional who has demonstrated exceptional growth, innovation, or leadership within their field.
Nominees must:

• Show career progression, innovation, or impact in their industry
• Contribute through mentorship, leadership, or thought leadership
• Exhibit continuous learning or professional development
• May be an entrepreneur, rising leader, or influential team member

2. Community Development Award
Celebrating a changemaker improving the Rochester community through civic engagement, advocacy, or neighborhood development.
Nominees must:

• Actively participate in community improvement efforts
• Build inclusive, impactful initiatives
• Demonstrate a long-term commitment to community betterment

3. Sports & Recreation Leadership Award
Honoring a leader in Rochester’s sports, wellness, or recreation scene who builds connection and promotes healthy living.
Nominees must:

• Lead or support athletic, fitness, or recreational initiatives
• Promote wellness and community through sport or activity
• Embody sportsmanship, teamwork, and community engagement

4. Volunteer Impact Award
Recognizing someone who gives generously of their time and talent to support others and inspire service in the Rochester community.
Nominees must:

• Regularly volunteer with nonprofits, community groups, or service efforts
• Demonstrate compassion, commitment, and reliability
• Inspire others to give back

How It Works:

• Submit your nomination here (no self-nominations, please)
• After submission, you’ll receive a brief email survey to complete about your nominee
• We’ll then follow up with your nominee to collect more information
