Rock choir - the power of Song - shrewsbury abbey 2026

Rock Choir is the pioneering contemporary choir of the UK and remains unique with over 33,000 members participating in approximately 400 local communities. Founded by award-winning singer and musician Caroline Redman-Lusher in 2005, it offers all ages an alternative experience to the traditional classical or community choir introducing members to feel-good pop, rock and contemporary chart songs. 

Rock Choir made its debut in Shropshire in 2014, led by local musician Rowan Richards. Shropshire’s Rockies have performed all over the county and beyond for a variety of different events and venues, including the Shrewsbury Flower Show, in concert at Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury Abbey, Telford Town Park, Attingham Park and Weston Park. The members have recorded songs at Abbey Road Studios, performed as part of a record-breaking flash mob at the BBC Proms in the Park and sung at the Edinburgh Fringe and Wembley Stadium.
