What if a single moment could change the course of Irish traditional music?
Join internationally acclaimed fiddle player Gerry O'Connor for a unique evening that blends live music, stories, history and beautiful imagery into an unforgettable journey through the lost musical heritage of Oriel.
Forty years ago, Gerry was handed a photocopy of an old article during a traditional music session in Dundalk. That unexpected discovery led him on a lifelong search that uncovered hundreds of forgotten melodies from Counties Louth, Armagh, Monaghan and Cavan, music that had almost disappeared.
During this special presentation, Gerry shares that remarkable story through live fiddle performances, historic photographs, maps, archive material and personal memories. You'll hear the music, discover where it came from, and learn how it found its way back to audiences today.
Whether you're passionate about Irish music, local history, or simply enjoy a great story told by someone who has lived it, this promises to be a memorable evening.
