A Passing Tale: Botanical Printing Workshop
Uncover the natural beauty of The Viking Way and leave your mark on local history in this free, four-hour creative workshop for adults. Led by artist Mandy Keating, this hands-on session blends nature, storytelling, and sustainable art as part of the A Passing Tale project.
The workshop begins with an inspiring foraging walk along the historic Viking Way to gather natural materials and ideas. Back in the workshop, Mandy will demonstrate how to use pre-made natural foraged inks. Using handmade, sustainable gel plates and stencils, you will print stunning, nature-inspired images onto a cotton fabric tote bag and a small wildflower seed bag, both of which are yours to keep along with a complimentary packet of seeds.
Your artwork will reflect your personal connection to The Viking Way - whether inspired by the wildlife, the water, the iconic Humber Bridge, or stories of the people you’ve met along the path. To celebrate your creativity, Mandy will photograph everyone's designs so they can be featured in a final visual guide book to the North Lincolnshire Viking Way, which will be displayed publicly at a later date.
Please bring along an apron or an old shirt to protect your clothes during the printing process.
Please bring a packed lunch or there is a cafe available on site.
This session is supported by North Lincolnshire Council and The National Lottery Heritage Fund as part of Cultural Futures, a multi-year project to increase arts, heritage and cultural opportunities for North Lincolnshire.
