The Alternative Route Project

Discover 'The Alternative Route' this Autumn

Are you curious about working in the creative world, but not sure how to make a living from it? The Alternative Route is a friendly, hands-on series of workshops designed to show young people and families how local artists and freelancers build successful, real-world careers.

If you are aged 11–17 and part of a home-educating family, come along to meet local creatives, discover how they run their own small business, and then share your ideas to help design a creative career guide for other young people!

Each session will involve a practical creative activity, hear the stories of these creative professionals and have the opportunity to ask questions.

Workshop Lineup (All sessions run from 10am - 12noon)

• Tuesday 22nd September: Andy Evans – A puppeteer, writer, and former teacher sharing how to mix creative passion with a flexible career.
• Tuesday 29th September: Marion Sander – An artist from Germany with a background across all sorts of jobs.
• Tuesday 6th October: Bruce Knight – An events manager and former circus performer with tips on producing events and trying new paths.
