Boy Moms: The Heart that Will Heal the Patriarchy
* * * * * * *
Let's just come out and say it: raising boys through the last gasps of patriarchy is heavy.
Every day, the headlines are bleak. Another powerful man is accused of abuse. Another school is traumatized by gun violence. Young boys are being red-pilled online. Billionaires are unapologetically flaunting their exploitation of the working class. Et cetera. Et cetera.
But amazing things are happening, too! Women are rising up. We are supporting each other more than ever. We are working to remember the old ways. There's been a renewed celebration of what makes us unique -- our softness, our protectiveness, our wisdom, our powers of creation and connection. We are embracing our witchiness. We are raising our voices. And we are not going back.
This brings about a necessary but difficult tension for mothers: where do our boys fit in? How do we uplift the feminine without destroying the masculine? How can we bring the outer world -- and our inner worlds -- back into balance?
We were never meant to do this alone, and fortunately, we don't have to! Building community is our superpower.
Mother's Circle is a safe space to process, be held, and be witnessed on the journey. We are all learning from each other, so all ages, stages, and expressions of motherhood are welcome here -- from pregnancy to empty nesters; single, coupled, blended; cis, trans, nonbinary. (Babies not yet walking are also welcome.) Space will be limited to 10 participants, in order to preserve intimacy and time for sharing.

Rooted Postpartum acknowledges that we are meeting on the traditional, ancestral, and contemporary lands of the Kumeyaay and Luiseño people. We honor the Indigenous mothers who have nurtured this land for generations, and the women who've sat in circle for millennia. We pay respect to the elders, past and present, and honor their deep connection to the Earth Mother.
