"Evolving"

Frictions, flow & feeling.
The Evolving workshop is a hands-on lab for riggers and rope models who already have attended a Beginner class and are familiar with single and double column ties,  and want to go deeper, not just in structure, but in connection, responsiveness, and intuition.

We will focus on Japanese slip knots to free the soul, frictions, energy, and flow.  The tactile language of rope that gives you rhythm, voice, and emotional depth.

🧶 What You’ll Learn

  • Nuki Dome, Nuki Musubi,Hibari musubi Nuki Dome slip knots

  • Understanding forward and reverse tension

  • Exploring half hitch,  No-Dome, full DomeX, L, U, and half-moon frictions

  • Learning how friction functions — both mechanically and expressively

  • Moving from technique into free-form improvisation, creating your own rope dialogue

  • Reading and responding to your partner’s body through micro-adjustments and tension feedback

🌀 The Practice

After learning and exploring the mechanics of each friction, we’ll move into guided free -form tying  using the frictions as language to play, connect, and discover your personal style.
This is a space to experiment, explore and listen.

🌸 Who It’s For

This workshop is for those who have attended the beginners class and already know basic single and double-column ties and are ready to evolve beyond them. Come solo, partnered, or with a friend, you’ll find an open, conscious, and inclusive atmosphere.
