PLAYGLOW

London's Neon Shibari Play Party

The lights go down. The UV comes alive. The ropes come out.

Bodies glow. Music fills the studio. Rope slides across skin. New connections begin.

PlayGlow is Ropejam Studio's signature monthly play party, created for people who love Kinbaku, Shibari and rope culture.

This isn't a class.

This isn't a dungeon.

This is a rope playground.

A night where art, kink, music, connection and community come together beneath glowing lights.

Whether you come with a partner, friends or completely on your own, you'll find an atmosphere designed for people who love rope and everything it can become.

The Spirit of PlayGlow

PlayGlow celebrates hedonism with intention.

Not excess for its own sake.

Not performance.

But the joy of embodiment.

The pleasure of beautiful rope.

The excitement of meeting new people.

The freedom to flirt.

The confidence to express yourself.

The intimacy of shared experiences.

The electricity that fills a room when everyone has come to play.

It is playful.

It is artistic.

It is kinky.

It is welcoming.

It is beautifully human.

No two nights are ever the same.

A House Party for Rope Lovers

One of the things that makes PlayGlow special is that it feels less like a commercial event and more like being welcomed into a friend's house.

People chat.

People laugh.

People share food.

People admire beautiful rope.

People flirt.

People dance.

People create unforgettable scenes.

Sharing food has become part of our culture.

It's how conversations begin, strangers become friends and our community grows.

If you enjoy cooking, baking or simply bringing your favourite snacks, we'd love you to share them with everyone.

Come as a guest.

Leave as part of the community.

Come for the rope.

Stay for the people.

Return for the feeling.

Who Is It For?

Everyone who shares a love for rope.

Whether you're taking your very first steps into Shibari or have years of experience, you'll find your place here.

Come alone.

Come with friends.

Come with your partner.

Many people attend solo and leave having made new friends, new rope partners and meaningful connections.

All genders, sexualities, relationship styles and identities are welcome.

Kindness, curiosity and respect are expected from everyone.

Rope First. Play Naturally Follows.

PlayGlow is a rope-led kinky play party.

Rope is the beginning of the conversation.

The first touch.

The first connection.

The first surrender.

For many scenes, rope becomes the entire experience.

For others, it becomes the doorway into something more.

Shibari remains the heart of PlayGlow.

Everything else grows naturally from it.

We celebrate the creativity, intimacy, sensuality and freedom that rope can unlock while keeping rope itself as the defining element of the night.

The Play Space

Alongside our shared rope space, PlayGlow includes a dedicated playroom.

Here, guests can continue their rope-led scenes in a more private environment where fuller consensual play is welcome.

The playroom exists for those who wish to explore beyond the shared studio while allowing the main space to remain a vibrant social, artistic and rope-focused environment.

Whether your scene ends with a quiet embrace or develops into something more intimate, consent, communication and mutual respect remain at the centre of everything.

Dress Code

Fetish β€’ Fantasy β€’ Glow

PlayGlow isn't a night for everyday clothes.

It's a celebration of creativity, confidence and self-expression.

Dress to become part of the artwork. Dress to be remembered.

Come looking like the most extraordinary version of yourself.

Imagine someone photographing the room.

Would your outfit tell a story?

If the answer is yes, you're probably doing it right.

Think...

Latex.

Leather.

Harnesses.

Corsets.

PVC.

Sequins.

Glitter.

Cabaret.

Burlesque.

Fantasy.

Cyberpunk.

Neon.

Fluorescent colours.

LED accessories.

Beautiful costumes.

Theatrical make-up.

Bold self-expression.

The more imaginative, the better.

Not Suitable

Everyday jeans.

Streetwear.

Sportswear.

Gym clothing.

Regular trainers.

Casual "I just came from the pub" outfits.

If your outfit says "ordinary Friday night", upgrade it.

Easy upgrades include a harness, glitter, latex, dramatic make-up, a mask, boots, fluorescent accessories or something theatrical.

Become part of the atmosphere.

Become part of the artwork.

What Is Allowed?

When clearly negotiated and enthusiastically consensual, the following are welcome when rope remains part of the scene:

β€’ Impact play

β€’ Electric play (experienced players only)

β€’ Power exchange and role play

β€’ Clean wax play

β€’ Toys used as part of a rope-led scene

Everything should remain respectful of the shared environment and those around you.

Wax Play

Wax is welcome when it remains clean and controlled.

β€’ Drip only

β€’ Use protection beneath the body.

β€’ Leave no mess.

β€’ Clean everything afterwards.

If it creates unnecessary mess within a shared space, it doesn't belong at PlayGlow.

Hard Limits

Needle play.

Blood play.

Cutting.

Scat.

Watersports.

Drugs.

Any behaviour that places others at risk or makes the shared environment uncomfortable.

Consent Is Everything

Consent is the foundation of every scene.

Always negotiate beforehand.

"No" always means no.

Anyone may pause or stop a scene at any time.

Photographs may only be taken with the explicit consent of everyone involved.

Harassment, discrimination, coercion or unsafe behaviour will result in immediate removal from the event.

Inclusivity

PlayGlow proudly welcomes LGBTQIA+, FLINTA, queer, POC and people of every identity and relationship style.

Come exactly as you are.

Leave others free to do the same.

Unconditional Rope Love πŸ–€βœ¨

One final suggestion that I think would elevate the brand: instead of calling it simply "The Play Space", call it "The Velvet Room", "The Red Room", or another distinctive name that belongs uniquely to PlayGlow. Saying "The Velvet Room is open tonight" creates identity and anticipation in a way that "the playroom" never will. It becomes part of the mythology of the event.
