Threads of Touch: A body expression workshop through rope.

Join us for an immersive, heart-centered afternoon where rope becomes the language of touch and creative exploration. Drawing from the mindful aesthetics of Shibari, the improvisational intelligence of Contact Improvisation, and the body wisdom of Somatic practice, Threads of Touch is an invitation to arrive in your body and discover what becomes possible when you combine careful presence, playful intention and rope, as an instrument for connection. When rope enters the space, it becomes an extension of the body. It listens before it leads, it guides, it flows, it bonds.

What to expect:

We'll begin with gentle movements rooted in Contact Improvisation principles, helping you tune in to your body's natural impulses and responsiveness. From there, we will explore various layers of touch and body manipulation, how intentional containment can paradoxically create freedom, by heightening the body's awareness and deepening the felt sense of being present. Finally, we introduce rope as an extension of touch, playful, expressive, and unhurried. You'll experiment with simple ties as a starting point for creative exploration rather than as technical endpoints, developing living conversation between bodies and finding new textures of connection.

Throughout the session, we'll hold space for rest, reflection, and laughter. There's no pressure to "achieve" anything — only an invitation to be genuinely curious.

This workshop is for you if:

  • You're drawn to the poetics of rope and want to explore it as a creative and connective practice
  • You're curious about how touch, trust, and play intersect
  • You want to develop awareness and presence in partner body-work

No prior experience with Rope play or Contact Improvisation is required. All experience levels are warmly welcome. Please wear comfortable clothing. Rope will be provided, though you're welcome to bring your own.

Come partnered or willing to partner.

Leave feeling grounded, connected, and a little more at home in your body.
