SHIBARI MEN'S ROPE SALON /// KINBAKU OPEN STUDIO JAM
A dedicated space for men to meet through rope. πͺ’
Our Men's Rope Salon takes the relaxed, open-format spirit of the Ropejam Open Studio and dedicates the evening to men tying, being tied, practising and exploring Kinbaku together.
Come to tie, be tied, switch, practise, experiment, watch, talk, connect, or simply spend time in the space.
No class. No performances. No pressure to play.
Just an evening to explore rope with other men in an open, super friendly and welcoming environment.
πͺ’ MEN + ROPE
Rope between men can be many things.
Technical. Creative. Physical. Intimate. Playful. Sensual. Challenging. Meditative.
It doesn't need to be sexual or romantic, and it doesn't need to fit into anybody else's idea of what male connection should look like.
This is a space to explore it for yourself.
Come solo, with friends, with a partner or partners.
You don't need to arrive with someone to participate. We can't guarantee you'll find a tying partner, but we create a social environment where conversations and connections can happen naturally.
Whether you've been tying for years, you're developing your practice, or you're beginning to explore rope, you're welcome.
Tie men. Be tied by men. Explore what happens in between.
πΈοΈ THE ROPE SALON
The studio is yours to explore.
We have:
- πͺ’ 8 suspension points
- Hashira, our freestanding metal post
- Soft cushioned floor
- Ambient lighting and music
- Communal ropes if you don't have your own
- Space for floor work, suspension and self-tying
- Tea and space to slow down, talk and connect
This is an Open Studio Jam, not a taught workshop.
Bring something you're practising. Explore an idea. Exchange knowledge. Watch other people tie. Ask questions. Spend an hour perfecting one technique or spend the evening improvising.
Your rope. Your practice. Your pace.
π WHO IS THIS SPACE FOR?
This edition of Rope Salon is centred around men tying and being tied by other men.
Gay, bi, pan, queer, straight, trans and cis men are welcome.
You don't need to define your sexuality or your relationship to rope to belong in the room.
Ropejam is proudly LGBTQI+, POC, trans and non-binary inclusive. We believe different bodies, identities, sexualities and ways of relating deserve to be seen, respected and celebrated.
Kindness, respect, enthusiastic consent and care form the ground we tie on.
π₯ THE ROPEJAM TABLE
Ropejam has always been about more than rope.
Our signature Turkish focaccia with babaganoush will be waiting on the sharing table, alongside tea and whatever else appears during the evening.
Feel free to bring food or snacks to share with the room.
We love to share. βπ₯π€
β¨ COME AS YOU ARE
There is no dress code and nothing you need to perform.
Bring your rope if you have some. Bring your curiosity. Bring yourself.
We want to see YOU.
Unconditional Rope Love π€πͺ’
π§Ά WHAT TO BRING
Bring your own rope if you have it.
If you don't yet own rope, we have communal ropes available at the studio.
