Roskell Academy International Summer School 2027
The Roskell Academy annual event brings together pianists and teachers from around the world for three days of inspiration, practical experience, friendship and enjoyment. This course is brand new for 2027.
Join Penelope and other Roskell Academy tutors either in person in London at Penelope’s studio in London or online.
Tickets are available for both in-person and online attendance. If you are able to travel to London for at least some of the course, we would highly recommend attending in person for as many days as possible. We are very happy to provide hybrid attendance for online/in-person attendance. Your preferences for each day's attendance can be organised after booking.
Day 1: Saturday 29th May, 10.30am - 5pm: 'Integrating Technique with Artistry’
Explore techniques in more depth within a musically-inspired approach.
Day 2: Sunday 30th May - 10.30am - 5pm: ‘The Confident Musician’
Explore with other musicians in a very supportive environment how to prepare effectively, choose secure fingerering, and perform more confidently.
Day 3: Monday 31st May, 10.30am - 5pm - 'The Creative Musician'
Do you want to be more creative as a performer or teacher? Join our workshops, discussion groups and advice sessions!
On this day, we welcome guest speakers Aaron Burrows (composer for the Essential Piano Technique series) and Trish Cummings (Music Learning Theory teacher)

After booking, we ask you to complete a form to let us know how you intend to attend the Summer School (in-person, online, or a hybrid option)
For In-Person Tickets:
Teas, coffees and biscuits will be provided. Please bring your own packed lunch.
There will then be the option to join us for a meal at a local restaurant on the Saturday evening (price covered by yourself).
Venue: The Studio, N16 5UQ (full address provided on booking).
Penelope's Studio is a 15 minute walk from Manor House Tube Station on the Piccadilly Line, or a 25 minute walk from Finsbury Park tube and train station.
Local on-street parking is available on all three days unless there is a special local event taking place. We will let you know closer to the time if there is an event.
Local accommodation suggestions will be provided on booking.
For Online Tickets:
The workshops will be streamed on Zoom.
The main presentation sessions will be recorded, but you will get the most out of the day by attending live. You will be placed with the same group in breakout rooms during the day when you will have an opportunity to discuss and experiment further.
We strongly advise having a piano available to experiment during the workshops.
Refund Policy:
In-Person tickets: If you are unable to attend in person, your ticket will change to an online ticket. The sessions will be recorded. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to make it in person, so that your place can be offered to someone else.
No refunds available for online tickets as the sessions will be recorded if you are unable to attend live.
