Join us for our new latin & local music festival this August across Orkney and Shetland

This brand new music festival will bring together artists from Scotland’s North Isles and Latin America to create, perform and collaborate, with concerts in Kirkwall and Lerwick alongside workshops and community events across the islands.

Rumbo North Isles: Shetland (Sat 1 Aug)

An afternoon and evening of performances from Argentinian groups Lohdóh and El Guapo, alongside North Isles favourites Kris Drever (with full band), Catriona Price, Amy Laurenson & Norman Wilmore, and Skelpit, plus a special appearance from the Bigton Samba Band.

Rumbo North Isles: Orkney (Sun 9 Aug)

We take our latin and local festival over to Orkney for another afternoon and evening of performances, this time with Orkney favourites The Chair and Auskerry will be joining Lohdóh and El Guapo alongside our other North Isles performers Kris Drever (with full band) and Catriona Price.

Tickets + timings

Your ticket gives you access to the full afternoon and evening. Specific timings will be released on the Routes to Roots social media pages closer to the event date.

All Orkney tickets are standing tickets – limited unreserved seating will be available at the venue.

All Shetland tickets are unreserved seated tickets. Please contact us directly if you have specific access needs. 

About Routes to Roots

Rumbo North Isles is produced by Routes to Roots — an artist-led organisation dedicated to bringing diverse musicians together to create powerful new intercultural musical experiences. Founded by Scottish musician Catriona Price, and co-led with Argentinian duo El Guapo, Routes to Roots produced their first festival ‘Rumbo Oaxaca’ in Mexico in 2026, and have collaborated with Celtic Connections and Edinburgh International Festival. Rumbo North Isles aims to shine a spotlight on the creative spirit of the North Isles while opening new channels for international collaboration, connection and exchange.
