Rumbo North Isles: Orkney

Sun 9 Aug 2026 4:00 PM - 11:00 PM Marquee at Picky, KW15 1LR

Rumbo North Isles is a brand new latin & local music festival, bringing together the rich musical traditions of Orkney and Shetland with the vibrant, colourful rhythms of Latin America.

Join us in the Marquee at Picky for our Orkney festival show - an afternoon and evening of performances from Argentinian groups Lohdóh and El Guapo, alongside Orkney favourites The Chair, Kris Drever (with full band), Catriona Price, and Auskerry. The show will feature intercultural collaborations between the Latin American and Northern Isles musicians throughout.

The artists:

The Chair is Orkney’s legendary stomp band, renowned for their infectious energy, driving rhythms and crowd-rousing blend of traditional island music, original songs and unmistakable Orcadian spirit. Kris Drever is one of Scotland’s most acclaimed folk singers and songwriters, renowned for his powerful voice, masterful guitar playing and deeply evocative songs. Lohdóh (pronounced lo-DOH) is an Argentine duo exploring songcraft through a contemporary urban aesthetic, blending rich vocal textures, electronic influences and poetic storytelling. Orcadian fiddle player, singer and composer Catriona Price is known for her work with Fara and Twelfth Day, blending contemporary influences with traditional styles in a fresh, fiddle-led, full band sound. El Guapo combines Latin American songwriting with elements of rock, funk, jazz and global music traditions to create an energetic and genre-crossing sound. Auskerry is one of Orkney’s most exciting emerging folk bands, bringing together five exceptional young musicians to create a fresh, energetic sound rooted in the rich traditions of the islands.
