Join ARINS for a lunchtime lecture at the Royal Irish Academy with Kimberly Cowell-Meyers and Carolyn Gallaher, co-authors of Building a Green Wall: Irish America’s Resurgence Post-Brexit, chaired by Dr Susannah Deedigan.

Drawing on their extensive research, Cowell-Meyers and Gallaher analyse the transatlantic networks, advocacy strategies, and historical legacies that underpin Irish-American engagement in contemporary politics. Their work offers fresh insight into diaspora influence and the evolving relationship between Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the United States.

Both speakers are established scholars: Kimberly Cowell-Meyers is known for her work on gender, conflict, and Northern Ireland politics, including Religion and Electoral Politics in Northern Ireland, while Carolyn Gallaher has written widely on political geography, conflict, and paramilitarism, including After the Peace: Loyalist Paramilitaries in Post-Accord Northern Ireland. Together, they bring a rich interdisciplinary perspective to the study of Irish-American political mobilisation.
