John Anderson's Travels in China

John Anderson, Keeper of the Gardens at Windsor Great Park, will be joining us at the York Club on Wednesday, March 25th. He will share his experiences from his travels in China as a part of a small team led by the late Seamus O’Brien. Seamus was writing a book about Frank Kingdon Ward, one of England’s greatest plant collectors. Seamus O’Brien was widely regarded as a leading figure in Irish gardening, dedicated to restoring historic plant collections and travelling around the world to study species in their native habitats.
During his talk, John will discuss these two remarkable horticulturists and provide a light-hearted overview of the landscapes, plants, people, and food from the regions he visited in China.
The talk is free to members, and £10 for non-members.
The York Club bar will be open for light refreshments.
Doors open at 7 pm, and the talk starts at 7.30 pm.
