Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella", adapted by Douglas Carter Beane

This 2013 adaptation was the first "Cinderella" mounted on Broadway. It still portrays Cinderella as a young woman forced into a life of servitude by her cruel stepmother and selfish stepsisters, but Beane makes the prince an orphan and introduces several new characters, including a sinister regent, an idealistic revolutionary and makes one of the sisters sympathetic. The score features several additional songs from the R&H catalog.
