SHEKERÉ & SONG WITH MELVIS SANTA

Join this 2-hour Special Workshop-Celebration dedicated to the Afro-Cuban orisha Yemayá on her Feast Day. Come to learn about cultural context and embodied practice as healing tools, such as singing, playing and sharing in community Afro-diasporic rhythms. No experience in singing or playing the shekeré is necessary. All voices and levels are welcome! 

What to bring: 

• Your own shekeré instrument for a fuller experience.
• Wear a blue or white top and a wide skirt (any color available)
• A bottle of water to stay hydrated
