WORKSHOP FORMAT
This full day workshop will focus on screen acting techniques, to give the actor a feel for what it's like to work on set with Simon Ryninks. Discover how to make the most of the material. How to make the most of the subtext in a scene! Discuss blocking a scene and working with the camera’s choreography. We will explore all the above through practical exercises, discussion and acting from scripts
BIO
Simon Ryninks is a screenwriter and director whose work blends expansive genre tropes with domestic intimacy, exploring ideas of connection, community, and belief.
His debut feature as writer-director, OUT THERE, starring Aneurin Barnard, Iwan Rheon, Alice Lowe, and Michael Sheen, is a BFI-backed release set to premiere in 2026.
Simon's short films have screened at hundreds of festivals worldwide, been broadcast internationally, and have been BAFTA long-listed. Alongside his filmmaking, he has taught MA filmmaking at the Royal College of Art, and he co-runs STAGE 21, an initiative championing on-screen representation for disabled actors through creative workshops.
