HOW TO WRITE A SHORT FILM

Want to write a script but not sure where to start? Or you’ve written a short film and now you want feedback? Over 4 sessions, you will write or rewrite a 10-minute short at least once, receiving both professional and peer-to-peer feedback on what you have written.

In this four-week course we will look at: How to write a short film that will get you noticed. How to construct a pitch that helps you keep narrative focus and sells the project. How to write great scenes full of tension, exciting dialogue and compelling characters. How to punch up scenes when they feel flat. Good sex and action sequences, versus bad ones! Best practice for formatting your script.

The process will mimic the lived reality of a writers’ working life – the privacy an enjoyment of writing the first draft, and then the public ownership of that story when it's sent out into the professional world.

Eleanor Greene is an award winning creative exec producer with over 25 years experience working in scripted TV. She is currently running a script consultancy as well as exec producing features.
