WORKSHOP FORMAT
Gain the opportunity to develop and strengthen your audition technique in person with Matthew Dewsbury, Casting Director at the RSC, and Casting Assistant Charlie Metcalf. Throughout the day, participants will perform multiple times, receiving constructive feedback, guidance, and direction in a supportive professional environment. The workshop also offers the chance to observe others’ work, gain insight into the casting process, and take part in a Q&A session with Matthew and Charlie at the end of the day.

MATTHEWS'S BIO
Matthew Dewsbury CDG - Casting Director.
Matthew is the Casting Director at the RSC and has worked in the casting department for 13 years. Prior to that he was the Casting and Producing Assistant at The Watermill Theatre.

CHARLIES BIO
Charlie initially trained as an actress before gaining a BA Degree in History & Theatre Studies, then an MA in Classical Theatre. After a Communications internship at the Royal Court Theatre, she moved into Talent Management working at some of the top London agencies, first as an assistant then running her own successful client list across Theatre, Television, Flim and Radio. After more than eight years as an Agent, Charlie joined the RSC where she has spent the past six years working as Casting Assistant and Children’s Casting Director. She is passionate about Arts Education, having taught Drama & Musical Theatre, and run workshops for several Stage Schools, Local Councils, and Youth Services. She specializes in Classical Theatre, with a focus on unlocking Shakespeare for all ages. Charlie is a probationary member of the Casting Directors Guild of Great Britain. & Ireland.
