WORKSHOP FORMAT

20 & 21 July | 18:30 - 21:30 | 2 Occurrences | This ticket is a one time fee ( 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭. 𝘝𝘈𝘛 ) and is valid for all the days of this course.

In this 2 Intensive, you will work with Saffeya Shelbi (casting associate at the Royal Court) on the art of Theatre Acting and Auditions. Day 1 will have a focus on monologues and Day 2 will be focussing on duologues. Sides will be sent out shortly before each session. Honest feedback will be given in a supportive environment!

BIO

Saffeya is Casting Associate for the Royal Court, where she casts the Upstairs productions, and works as associate on the Downstairs productions.

She was previously Casting Associate for The Old Vic, working across main stage shows, tours, readings, workshops and events.

Before graduating from the NFTS Casting Certificate and making the move into casting, she was Head of Publicity for independent film distributor Soda Pictures/Thunderbird Releasing for several years. She also holds a law degree from Kings College London.

Casting Director credits include Sophia Chetin-Leuner's P*rn Play (dir: Josie Rourke) and Justin Audibert's Anansi the Spider (dir: Robin Belfield). Casting Associate credits for The Old Vic include Jack Thorne’s A Christmas Carol (dir: Matthew Warchus), Conor McPherson's The Brightening Air, George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion (dir: Richard Jones), and Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing (dir: Max Webster).
