WORKSHOP FORMAT

6, 13, 20, 27 AUGUST | 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM | 4 occurrences | This is a one time fee and is inclusive for all the sessions in this course

WEEK ONE: SELF-TAPE FEEDBACK: POLICE DRAMAS

From thrillers to police procedurals, there are a plethora of roles in film and television for cops, detectives, victims, perpetrators, witnesses, and experts. Many actors make their “bread and butter” in these kinds of roles. Find out how to approach these auditions and what to look for in the scenes you’re given to read.

Two days before the first session, you will receive a scene to self-tape and submit before the class. During the live Zoom session, we will review each self-tape, and Lana will provide feedback and insights to each participant.

WEEK TWO: SELF-TAPE FEEDBACK: SUPERNATURAL GENRES

While police dramas are often rooted in (heightened) reality, actors can be thrown when given a scene that takes place in the fantasy or supernatural genres. How do you authentically portray the character without going over the top? Learn how to find the right balance and bring the viewer into the world of the story.

Two days before the second session, you will receive a scene to self-tape and submit before the class. During the live Zoom session, we will review each self-tape, and Lana will provide feedback and insights to each participant.

WEEK THREE: LIVE READINGS

This is a live audition technique workshop where participants will work with a reader and perform live reads in real time

WEEK FOUR: INTERNATIONAL CAREER STRATEGY

The course will round out with a discussion of international career strategy: how to prepare for opportunities, how to create value for gatekeepers, and how to best position yourself in a changing industry. Let’s start building your roadmap. There will be ample time for Q&A.

{This workshop adheres to CDG guidelines and isn’t an audition}.
