WORKSHOP FORMAT
This full-day workshop focuses on screen acting techniques, giving actors an insight into what it is like to work on set with BAFTA-winning film and television director Saul Dibb.
Working at the highest level across both film and television, Saul will share his expertise on the different approaches and acting techniques required for each medium. Participants will explore how to make the most of the material, uncover the subtext within a scene, and bring greater depth and authenticity to their performances.
The workshop will also cover blocking a scene, understanding camera choreography, and developing an awareness of how performance and camera work combine to tell a story on screen.
Through practical exercises, group discussion, and script work, actors will gain valuable insight into the professional screen acting process and learn techniques that can be applied directly to auditions and on-set performance.

BIO
BAFTA-winning director Saul Dibb is one of the UK's most acclaimed filmmakers, with a distinguished career spanning award-winning feature films and landmark television drama. His recent work includes the hit BBC crime drama This City Is Ours, starring Sean Bean, for which he served as lead director and executive producer, as well as the BAFTA-winning true-crime drama The Sixth Commandment, which earned him the BAFTA for Best Director: Fiction.
His feature film credits include Journey's End, starring Sam Claflin, Paul Bettany, Asa Butterfield and Toby Jones; the Academy Award-winning period drama The Duchess starring Keira Knightley; the acclaimed wartime romance Suite Française; and his breakthrough feature Bullet Boy, widely regarded as one of the most important British films of its generation.
His television directing credits also include The Line of Beauty, NW, Dublin Murders, and The Salisbury Poisonings, establishing him as one of the industry's most sought-after directors across both film and television.
Renowned for his collaborative approach and exceptional work with actors, Saul has directed some of the finest acting talent in the world. This workshop offers a rare opportunity to work directly with a director at the very top of his profession, gaining invaluable insight into performance, character, storytelling, audition technique, and the realities of working on professional film and television productions.
