WORKSHOP FORMAT

This full day workshop will focus on screen acting techniques, to give the actor a feel for what it's like to work on set with Andrea Harkin. Discover how to make the most of the material. How to make the most of the subtext in a scene! Discuss blocking a scene and working with the camera’s choreography. We will explore all the above through practical exercises, discussion and acting from scripts

Upon request, you have the option to receive your footage after the session for no extra cost!

BIO

Andrea is a BAFTA-nominated, RTS Award-winning filmmaker from Northern Ireland, based in London, best known for Amazon’s THE GIRLFRIEND, and currently in post-production on HBO’s A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS, Season 2.

THE GIRLFRIEND topped Prime Video’s UK and US charts for several weeks and earned nominations for two Golden Globes and two Critics’ Choice Awards — including Best Limited Series at both — plus an Astra Award nomination for Best Directing.

Her career reflects a consistent run of critically acclaimed television. She lead directed TIME S2 for BBC One, starring Bella Ramsey, Jodie Whittaker and Tamara Lawrance — described by The Guardian as “world-beating drama.” All three leads received RTS nominations, with Lawrance winning Best Actress and Ramsey winning Best Supporting Actress, and the series won the Broadcasting Press Guild Award for Best Mini-Series.

She also lead directed BBC’s THE TRIAL OF CHRISTINE KEELER, winner of the RTS Southwest Award for Best Drama and later acquired by HBO Max and Netflix, landing at No. 3 in its first week on the platform.

Andrea’s earliest television work was on the second block of BBC Three’s hit drama-thriller CLIQUE, before she lead directed the BBC One mini-series COME HOME, which won the RTS NI Award for Best Drama and earned Christopher Eccleston an International Emmy nomination — later finding a second life on Netflix, where it reached No. 3 on the UK Top 10. Her other credits include THE CONFESSIONS OF FRANNIE LANGTON, a four-part ITV/BritBox adaptation of the award-winning novel.

She trained at the UK’s National Film & Television School. Her short film THE PARTY, made shortly after graduating, earned BAFTA and European Film Award nominations.
