CASTING DIRECTOR BEN COGAN | TV / FILM CASTING WORKSHOP
WORKSHOP FORMAT
We will pass on your Spotlight CV to Ben Cogan. Ben will then send out a selection of scenes for you to choose from. Please select one scene regardless of age, gender and ethnicity! Ben would like you to be as familiar with the text as possible.
Following an introduction, participants will film their tape with Ben under audition conditions (with the whole group present). We have superb equipment for the best learning experience. Alex will give each participant notes allowing them the chance to do a second take. This will be followed by a short tea break and an informal Q&A.
**Your scenes will be recorded with broadcast quality equipment. Upon request, you have the option to receive your footage after the session for no extra cost!**

BIO
Ben Cogan has worked in casting for over 25 years. He began as a casting assistant for many shows (including EastEnders, Holby City and Waking the Dead) before becoming the casting director for Doctors in 2002. 380 episodes later, Ben moved to Casualty, and, in his time there, 6 episodes that he worked on were recognised with BAFTA nominations. During this period he also worked on the Afternoon Play series, Kiss of Death and various short films - one of which (Wish 143) was nominated for an Oscar. Since going freelance in 2015 Ben has cast numerous films including the award winning, Just Charlie, Trendy, Evie, Old Windows, The Outing, Lady M, Bellmouth and TV shows such as BAFTA nominated Apple Tree House as well as the additional child casting of His Dark Materials. More recently Ben has cast the feature films: 'Love Without Walls', 'Hunted', 'Mrs Plum' and (his first Rom Com): 'One Night In Bath' ... he is currently working on 2 new feature films on 'Rag & Bone' and 'Before Your Very Eyes.'
