WORKSHOP FORMAT

This full-day workshop focuses on screen acting techniques, offering actors a unique insight into working on set with Emmy-nominated film and television director SAUL METZSTEIN.

Drawing on his experience directing acclaimed television dramas including Slow Horses, Doctor Who, Brassic, and Ripper Street, Saul will explore the collaborative relationship between actor and director, sharing practical approaches to developing truthful, compelling performances for the screen.

Participants will examine how to interpret scripts, uncover subtext, make strong performance choices, and adapt their work for the camera. The workshop will also explore blocking, camera language, continuity, and how actors can work confidently within the technical demands of a professional film and television set.

Through practical scene work, on-camera exercises, and group discussion, actors will gain first-hand insight into Saul's directing process, learning techniques that can be applied directly to auditions and professional screen performance.

Upon request, participants can receive footage from their on-camera work after the session at no additional cost.
