The Mystery Drop

Race Details:
Date - Saturday 27th June 2026
Registration -
Registration will open at 7am on St Chads Terrace at the top of the Shrewsbury Quarry Park.
Here you will receive your GPS Tracker, your emergency kit and security sealed bag.
You MUST place your phone within the security sealed bag and seal it under the watchful eye of the Mystery Drop Team before boarding the bus.
Your Transfer To The Drop Point-
You will board the bus and place a blindfold over your eyes. The journey will last approximately 40 minutes. Anyone removing their mask prior to the drop point will be disqualified without refund.
The drop point -
The drop point will be 15 miles (as the crow flies) from Shrewsbury. Please note it is highly unlikely that you will be able to go in a direct line to Shrewsbury so expect to run/walk more than 15 miles.
The finish Point -
The finish Point will be a secret location in Shrewsbury only provided at the drop point. The finish line will close at 7pm.
Race Rules -
- No phone use - You must carry a phone but it should be kept in the sealed bag provided at all times. Phones can only be used in an emergency or race drop out
- No maps
- No GPS devices other than the tracker provided
- Only running, walking or crawling allowed. Strictly no use of vehicles, bikes, scooters, horses or any other forms of transport.
- Trespassing on private land is strictly forbidden
- Any competitors deemed to have acted in an unsafe manner will be disqualified. Unsafe acts include but are not exclusive to: climbing over walls or fences, rock climbing, descending extremely steep slopes, crossing rivers (without a bridge), running on duel carriageways/motorways, not abiding by the highway code.
- You are not permitted to Run/Walk on the A49, A5 or the M54 (unless it is a section with a public footpath). Please make yourself familiar with the location of these roads prior to the race.
- Pre-arranged help from any friends or family who are not taking part in the race is not permitted.
- You must carry on you at all times the items specified in the kit list.
Failure to abide by any of the rules will result in disqualification without refund.
Prizes -
Individual - There will be prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd person to reach the Finishing Point
Team - There will be a prize for the 1st placed team
The Team Race Rules
- Teams must have at least two members
- All members of the team must finish the race
- A Teams result will be worked out by using a means average of all the individual team members times.
GPS Tracker
- Your tracker will allow the Mystery Drop Team to monitor your location and movements throughout the race.
- A link can be provided for friends and family to monitor your progress throughout the event.
- GPS Trackers must be handed in to the Mystery Drop Team at the end of the race. Failure to return your device will result in a £100 replacement fee.
Getting to the Registration Point / Returning from the Finish Point
The registration point and the finish point are both within easy walking distance of Shrewsbury Train Station and Bus Station as well as multiple council operated car parks.
Safety notice: This race is not for those who need guidance, are afraid of getting lost, or don't have commonsense. It is a race that not only requires a high level of endurance fitness but also the ability to problem solve and a natural sense of direction.
Age Limit - This event is strictly for those 18 years old and above
This race is Strictly limited to 53 places so book early to avoid disappointment!
