MEET ME AT THE MANGO TREE

… and prepare to be captivated by the enchanting melodies of a musical performance that unfolds the poignant tale of a young girl's awakening to the remarkable power of music.

My team and I set out to develop a new type of performance, where the use of visuals are minimised to make room for an immersive audio experience. Intensified further by the use of headphones. It’s titled “Meet Me At The Mango Tree”.
In keeping with the tradition of storytelling, “Meet Me At The Mango Tree” is a coming-of-age story set in the Caribbean. Following the philosophy of “Less is more,” the performance has minimal visuals and emphasises an audio experience through headphones. Light will be used to create ambience or reinforce certain elements on stage in a theatrical sense but otherwise the patron can close his/her eyes and enjoy the unfolding of the story through the songs and sounds.
