ABOUT THE GUESTS
Chef Izzeldin Bukhari is a chef and food researcher dedicated to preserving and reimagining Palestinian culinary heritage. As the founder of "Sacred Cuisine," he runs pop-up kitchens, food tours, and cooking experiences across Palestine, and travels internationally for restaurant residencies, collaborations, and cultural exchanges. Known for his plant-forward approach, he specializes in somi cuisine — traditional vegan and vegetarian dishes connected to fasting traditions and seasonal eating practices. His work combines sustainability, zero-waste cooking, spirituality, and cultural preservation. Bukhari has become an active voice in Palestine’s growing gastronomy scene.
Daniel Maté is a composer-lyricist-playwright, bestselling author, audiobook narrator, actor, vinyl enthusiast, and to his knowledge the world’s only “mental chiropractor”. He’s also a two-time finalist (top 10) for the Hip Hop Karaoke NYC championship, neither of which he won. A former camper and program leader in a Zionist youth group, he now co-hosts Bad Hasbara: The World’s Most Moral Podcast, a show devoted to tearing down Zionism one bad pun at a time.
Yassin Alsalman, known as NARCY, is a multi-media artist, musician, academic, and author who has carved his own lane at the intersection of Hip-Hop and Arab Identity art. A Juno-nominated artist, he has collaborated with the likes of yasiin bey and Yo-Yo Ma, published books, co-owns Maktaba bookshop, and founded the transmedia collective WeAreTheMedium, all in service of one relentless pursuit: spreading the belief that independence is the new major and new systems are the future.
