Instructor Bio - Ustadha Ameena Blake
Muslim Chaplain, University of Sheffield (UK) | Lecturer | Former VP of MAB | Founding Director, EHUK Women’s Refuge
Ustadha Ameena Blake is a respected educator, chaplain, and community leader based in Sheffield, UK. Since embracing Islam in 1992, she has dedicated over three decades to Islamic education, spiritual development, and social service.
She holds an MA in Islamic Studies from the Markfield Institute of Higher Education, an MSc in Leadership and Management in Education from Sheffield Hallam University, a PGCE, and a BA in English Studies. She currently serves as a Muslim Chaplain at the University of Sheffield and lectures at the Markfield Institute and Newman University.
Her leadership roles have included Vice President of the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB), Assistant Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), and Founding Director of the EHUK Women’s Refuge. She also serves as an Islamic Advisor to Halal Guide.
Ustadha Ameena is known for her dynamic and heartfelt talks on topics such as tazkiyah (spiritual purification), women in Islam, da’wah, and the seerah of the Prophet ﷺ. She has spoken nationally and internationally, appearing on platforms such as Channel 4, Sky TV, Islam Channel, BBC Radio, and Iqraa TV.
