Taino Full Moon Ceremony People’s Circle - VIRTUAL
Wed Feb 12, 2025 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM PST
Online, Zoom
Description
About the Flyer Art:
The eel was a valuable fish in the Taino diet; it is called "Anguilla" in Spanish and is likely referred to as "Malliouhana" in Arawak, which translates to “sea serpent.” Two primary varieties were fished: the freshwater eel and the saltwater eel.
Medicinal benefits: Eel oil alleviates earaches and headaches, and eel skin can heal sprains when used like a cast. Eel has low mercury levels, is a source of omega-3 fatty acids, and is high in protein.
Spiritual medicine: The sacred essence of the eel teaches us that the quest for closure can sometimes hinder our journey through life as it was meant to unfold. This search for closure may stem from connections with others, career choices, or burdensome self-perceptions that keep us from unlocking our true potential. Embrace the journey of closure by honoring its wisdom and create room for a more radiant path ahead. It is about finding harmony with what has been and moving forward with a gentle resolve.

Full moon ceremonies are sacred gatherings that invite personal healing and provide space to address and mend intergenerational trauma, including that which stems from colonization. These ceremonies are deeply rooted in the intention of creating a safe and nurturing environment for collective healing. To honor the cultural needs and experiences of our community, these sacred events are reserved for the BIPOC community. We extend our gratitude to those outside this circle for understanding and supporting the need for such sacred, intentional spaces.
We warmly invite you to partake in this transformative experience as we honor our shared histories and strive for communal healing while engaging in the crucial work of decolonizing our spiritual beliefs. Central to this healing circle is our commitment to reclaiming the sacred practice of "Tending to Our Ancestors," a fundamental aspect of Taino spirituality. Guided by healing chants and the ancient rhythms of the mayowakan, our traditional Taino drum, we embark on a powerful vision quest—an invitation to step into a sacred space where you can deeply connect with your ancestors.
As we move into our talking circle, we extend the sacred gift of the word. This inviting space encourages individuals to share their healing stories, fostering connection, understanding, and communal support. Additionally, Akutu Irka offers shamanic insights for participants seeking deeper meaning in their ancestral journeys. Together, we cultivate an atmosphere of respect, healing, and empowerment, honoring our shared heritage with integrity and devotion.
The medicine for this Full Moon is "Ancestral revelations are awakening, igniting the sacred flow of your creative spirit."

Your Investment
At Sacred Taino Healing, we are deeply committed to keeping our offerings as accessible as possible. That’s why, to better serve our community, we’ve made some adjustments to our sliding-scale pricing. This approach allows you to select a tier that aligns with your circumstances while supporting the balance of accessibility and sustainability.
We kindly ask that you take a moment to carefully review the three tiers before completing your purchase:
Tier 3 - $52: I have a stable home situation, reliable transportation, steady employment or self-employment, and the financial freedom to cover my needs and make necessary purchases.
Tier 2 - $42: I can comfortably provide my essential needs. I live comfortably with stable housing, reliable transportation, and some expendable income. If needed, I could rely on financial support from family or friends.
Tier 1 - $32: I work hard but often struggle to meet basic needs and don’t consistently achieve them, with little to no expendable income or financial support from family or friends.
By selecting the tier that best reflects your situation, you’re helping us ensure these offerings remain accessible to those who need them most while also fairly compensating the individuals who bring them to life.
If you’re in a position to contribute more at checkout, your generosity will directly support our efforts to make these resources available to all.
Please be punctual as the ceremony will start promptly at 5:10pm /8:10pm. The conferencing details via Zoom will be provided via email ONE HOUR BEFORE THE EVENT.

This allows you to revisit the experience at your leisure, whether you are unable to attend the live event, have a change in plans, or simply wish to dive deeper into the journey for further insights. The link will be distributed after the ceremony concludes and will remain accessible for a duration of 72 hours.
