Domestic Abuse & Dog Bite Risk - 16 Days Webinar
Thu 28 Nov 2024 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM GMT
Online, TEAMS
Description
This webinar will examine how the risk of dog bites to adults, children, and professionals rises in households being subjected to domestic abuse. We will review the dangerous dog legislation (UK) and provide safeguarding guidance for learners to utilise where there are concerns about the safety of children or vulnerable adults living in environments with a heightened likelihood of serious or fatal dog bites. Additionally, we will examine the role of non-traditional helping professions, such as canine behaviorists, dog trainers, and animal welfare investigators, and highlight the importance of multi-agency working to effectively safeguard survivors, regardless of species.
