About the training

Safer Birth Project is a specialist training and education initiative focused on improving maternity care for survivors of sexual trauma.

We support professionals to understand how trauma can affect pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period, and to respond with greater safety, sensitivity and respect.

Our training combines trauma-informed principles with practical tools for communication, consent, privacy, choice and responding to distress in real time. The aim is not to turn maternity professionals into therapists, but to help them make everyday care feel safer, more predictable and more respectful.

Safer Birth Project believes that emotional safety is part of clinical safety. Through training, resources and future survivor support services, we are working towards maternity care where women do not have to disclose their trauma in order to be treated with dignity, autonomy and compassion.

Please note: These tickets are for individual practitioners only.

For organisations, teams, NHS trusts, charities or maternity services wishing to arrange group bookings or commissioned training tailored to their setting, please contact hello@saferbirthproject.co.uk
