Need help?
Ember and Earth at Saffron is a free, friendly, welcoming community group where adults can enjoy being outdoors, meeting new people and taking part in different activities.
Expect to experience preparing food to cook on the campfire then eating together, alongside other activities including traditional crafts, growing, gathering and preparing seasonal vegetables and fruit, foraging and more. What's on offer will vary from session to session.
No experience needed, just come as you are, meet others and be part of our new community, meeting on two Thursdays every month.
Site information.
We will be based on Saffron Heath, the part of Saffron Acres Project that consists of a peaceful seven acre meadow and growing site. There are numerous heritage features including unusual local varieties of fruit and nut trees, a pre-Victorian field pond and an Anderson shelter. The heritage aspects of the Heath also includes the use of scything to manage the grassland. We may also visit the Acres side of the project, which is our main growing area, to gather food for some of our campfire cooking activities.
The Ember and Earth group may be involved in planning, developing and using a new workshop and growing area on the Heath over the time of the LEAF funded project.
When you book you will be sent a confirmation email which contains a link to a registration form. This information is for our funders so we would be grateful if you could click through and complete it.
